Seven cluster initiatives use open innovation to solve industry challenges

Before Skåne Innovation Week, between June 1 to 5, the seven major cluster initiatives in region of Skåne share identified challenges within each sector on the open innovation platform OpenUp.

How should the future school meals be like? How can we design smart logistics for the future to create sustainable cities? And what is the best way to make use of waste heat? These are some of the issues that the cluster initiatives in Skåne are facing. Upto Skåne Innovation Week the clusters are using open innovation to get inspired by new ideas using OpenUp.

“OpenUp is a digital platform that Packbridge and Skåne Food Innovation Network developed to share ideas and solve challenges in the food and packaging industry. Now we test to literally open up the community and allow more cluster initiatives to share their challenges, says Amanda Magnusson, project manager at Skåne Food Innovation Network.

The cluster initiatives involved are Packbridge, Mobile Heights, Sustainable Business Hub, Media Evolution, Resilient Regions Association, Logistics for Tomorrow and Skåne Food Innovation Network.

“Anyone can share their ideas to help solve the challenges”, says Johan Mårtensson, project manager at Packbridge.

People that contribute and share their ideas are given the possibility to get attention from world-leading companies and there’s a total prize pool of 12 000 SEK. All challenges are available on OpenUp until 27 May 2015. The winners with the best ideas will be presented and rewarded by the respective clusters during Skåne Innovation Week.
